Abstract:
This research aims to reveal the degree of availability of argumentative structure criteria and text construction standards in the texts of Arabic language books (linguistic competencies) at the secondary stage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and to achieve the goal of the research, the descriptive analytical approach was used, and a list of the argumentative criterion indicators The functional standard, the cohesion criterion and the coherence criterion, the analysis card was designed in light of the list, and after verifying the validity and reliability of the analysis card, the texts of Arabic language books (linguistic competencies) were analyzed in the secondary stage, and the research was concluded with a number of results, the most important of which is the availability of the functional standard at a greater rate Among the rest of the criteria, the low availability of the argumentative criterion, and a number of indicators in the cohesion criterion, and the coherence criterion, as the results showed that the texts of the books lack balance and integration in achieving all the criteria.
