This research aims to indicate the level of appreciating literature among students of the Bachelor of Arabic Language program and its relationship to their deep understanding. The descriptive correlative approach was used. Both the Literary Appreciation Skills and the Deep Comprehension Skills tests were designed for this purpose. The current research sample consisted of (231) male and female undergraduate students majoring in Arabic language for boys and girls in Abha, Mahayel Asir, Khamis Mushait, Sarat Ubaidah, and Dhahran Al Janoob. The results resulted in a list of (31) sub-skills distributed over (5) major skills for literary taste skills, and a list of (16) skills for deep understanding. The level of students of the Bachelor of Arabic Language program in literary appreciation skills and deep understanding was medium, and that there was a correlation between the students’ level in literary appreciation and their level in deep understanding, and there were statistically significant differences in the total degree of literary appreciation skills in light of the gender variable, college, and academic average. There were no statistically significant differences in the light of same variables average for deep understanding skills.
