The driving aim of this study was to explore the patterns of the diagnostic cognitive neuropsychological profile to reach cognitive diagnostic criteria of the neural nature of the superior students that might distinguish them from the Non-superior. Participants of the study consisted of 100 students among the third and the fourth year students (Scientific Section) at the Faculty of Education for Boys (Asyut) with an overall grade of very good at least in the previous years and other 100 students among those with a maximum overall grade of fair in the previous years. The cross-sectional research design was utilized in the study making the use of the comparartive and descriptive approach. The results of the study revealed a significant difference in similarities, digit span, arithmetic, symbol search, information and coding in favour of the superior. The differences in block design were in favour of the Non-superior whereas there were no significant differences in matrix reasoning, vocabulary and visual puzzles. As for the components, the differences were in favour of the superior in the components of verbal comprehension, working memory, and cognitive processing speed, and in favour of the Non-superior in the perceptual reasoning component. In addition, there were no significant differences significant between the superior and the Non-superior in the four practical grades.
