This study investigates the educational aspects in the preparation program of Arabic language teachers at King Faisal University according to three contemporary standards including; NCAAA, NCATE and INTASC. It proposed a framework for the development of the preparation program of Arabic language teachers. It is a descriptive study utilizing a quantitative approach through content analysis. This study was implemented during the academic year of 1440-1441. Data were collected and analyzed using frequencies and percentages. The study findings yielded a comprehensive criterion for the educational aspects that must be met in the preparation programs including (4) standards that consisted of (55) indicators (proposed by the Author). The result indicated the availability of educational aspects in the program was of a good rate of 76%, with a lack found in courses that are in line with the new roles of the Arabic language teachers in terms of teacher accreditation institutions’ standards. The study recommends employing the proposed criteria, proposed in this study, when evaluating preparation programs for Arabic language teachers in Saudi universities, and the need to include courses consistent with the new roles of future teachers. Future research should consider investigating the effectiveness of the proposed framework in developing the preparation program of Arabic language teachers at King Faisal University.
