The research aims to measure the effectiveness of cooperative learning in raising the level of cognitive achievement and skill performance related to the skills of learning the sliding zippers technique compared to the traditional method. The research sample included a number (30) students in the first year in the Department of Home Economics, College of Specific Education, who were divided into a control sample number (15) that studied knowledge and skills related to the unit of sliding zippers technology in the traditional way (practical statement), an experimental group number (15) studied by cooperative learning method According to unit planning, the researcher has prepared a cognitive achievement test that includes 48 questions (18 multiple choice questions, 15 correct and error questions, 15 complete with one or more words) and set up the test correction key to ensure its objectivity. Then he made a plan for the lesson according to the method of cooperative learning by following the strategy of cooperative learning and it was presented to the arbitrators to express their opinion in planning the proposed lesson. And he made an assessment scale by setting phrases to measure the students ’performance in each skill and determining the level of performance. Among the most important results of the research was the effectiveness of applying the cooperative learning method in developing the knowledge and skills of female students in learning the unit of sliding zippers technology, as it resulted in a statistically significant difference at the level of 0.05 between the control and experimental groups in the cognitive and skill testing in favor of the post-test group.
