The current research aimed to develop a proposed perspective based on the philosophy of distance education in employing digital educational platforms to achieve the goals of the educational process from the viewpoints of the faculty members at Al-Azhar University. The study made use of the descriptive method which is used for analyzing and diagnosing the phenomenon as well as the detection of its different aspects. The research sample consisted of a number of faculty members at Al-Azhar University who responded to the research instruments which was represented in a questionnaire to identify the level of importance associated with employing digital educational platforms in achieving the objectives of the educational process in the light of the philosophy of distance education from the viewpoints of participants. The results of the research revealed the following points: the great importance of the digital educational platforms, the sub-requirements which included the characteristics and components of the digital educational platform, the characteristics of the digital educational content, the bases of organizing the digital educational content, the interactive media for digital educational content and the evaluation of student practices on the digital educational platform. The research concluded with a proposed perspective that contributes to activating the employment of digital educational platforms for achieving the goals of the educational process. The research suggested developing a future map of the university’s roles based on its future vision in terms of supporting and developing digital educational platforms in order to increase the academic and professional aspects of the faculty members and their students.
