This study aimed to identify the effect of using the debate strategy on developing some dialogue and persuasion skills Arabic Language Subject among second-grade secondary students in the city of Sakaka in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, during the second semester of the academic year 1440/1441 AH. The researcher used the descriptive approach and the quasi-experimental approach. To achieve the aim of the study, a list of dialogue and persuasion skills was built and a teacher guidelines, as well as a test was prepared to measure the skills of dialogue and persuasion. After that, the test was applied to the study sample, which consisted of two groups, an experimental group of (19) students, and a control group of (16) students. After that the empirical group was taught by using debate strategy and the control group was taught by the traditional way. Then the post- test was applied on both groups. Where the results of the study showed that there are statistically significant differences at the level of significance (a=0.05) in favor of the experimental group in the post-achievement test. The research also reached a list of the skills of dialogue and persuasion suitable for second grade secondary school students. In light of the results of the study, one of the most prominent recommendations was to direct specialists in the field of curricula and teaching to increase research and study in methods and strategies that increase student interaction in the fields of dialogue, persuasion and language communication. In addition to that, there is an interest in training students in debate strategy and developing dialogue and persuasion skills.
