This study discussed the importance of the universities' ethics review committee IRB and its role in monitoring and controlling the integrity of researchers and their commitment to ethical standards for scientific research while they carry out scientific research procedures with its various quantitative, qualitative, and mixed designs. This research revealed that intellectual freedom and honesty are essential for sharing and developing scientific knowledge. In order to demonstrate the commitment of researchers in universities to these basic values, all members of the university community – post graduate students, faculty members, and researchers affiliated with them - must demonstrate integrity in their teaching, learning, research, evaluation, and personal behavior. Individuals are personally responsible for the intellectual and ethical quality of their work, and therefore they must ensure that their research meets the university’s standards and those entities that sponsor any element of research. They are also responsible for knowing what constitutes appropriate academic behavior. Hence, the importance and role of scientific research ethics committees in controlling and monitoring the quality of scientific research and the integrity of researchers in universities, in order to achieve the indicators of the scientific research standard, as one of the indicators of universities' quality and their local and international classification. In light of this, the current study presented several recommendations to activate the role of ethical review committees in controlling the quality of research and the researchers' integrity.
