Abstract:
The study aimed to identify the level of academic procrastination and its relationship to psychological alienation among a sample of Palestinian university students in the governorates of southern Palestine. To achieve this, the study followed the descriptive analytical approach by applying two questionnaires (academic procrastination and psychological alienation) prepared by researchers
on a sample of (348) male and female students from the fourth level from (Al-Israa, Al-Azhar, Palestine) universities. The results showed that the level of academic procrastination and psychological alienation among students was medium. There are statistically significant differences in the sample members’ estimates of academic procrastination and psychological alienation due to the gender variable in favor of male students, and there is a positive correlation between the degree of academic procrastination and the degree of psychological alienation among the sample members. The study recommended setting specific rules and standards to control academic tasks, in a way that ensures the quality of assessment and maintains students' achievement motivation.
