دراسة مقارنة لتمويل المنح الدراسية في بعض الجامعات الأوروبية وإمکانية الإفادة منها في مصر

The current study aimed to uncover the reality of scholarship funding in Paris Dauphine University, France, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain, and the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, and the most important cultural forces and factors affecting it, and to conduct a comparative analytical study between the experiences of the three universities in the field of scholarship funding, and to extract some Recommendations that may contribute to diversifying and developing scholarship funding sources in Egyptian universities.
The study problem was identified in an attempt to answer the following question: How can the sources of scholarship funding be diversified in Egypt and suggest non-traditional alternatives sources to it in light of the experiences of the French Paris Dauphine University, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain, and the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, in a manner that suits the conditions of Egyptian society. The study used the George Bereday approach in comparative educational studies, which is the most appropriate approach for such a study.
Among the most important findings of the study are the following:

The most important sources of scholarships funding at the University of Paris Dauphine, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and the University of Edinburgh are: scholarships funded by the government, and from the university budget, scholarships funded by research bodies and centers, scholarships funded by the private sector, scholarships funded by local governments, scholarships funded by community and charitable institutions, and scholarships funded by some foreign bodies.
The three universities adopt some criteria according to which the student's entitlement to the scholarship and the amount of the scholarship are determined. The most important of these criteria: the criterion of family income for scholarship applicants, and some other social criteria, such as place of living and others, this is in addition to the criterion of (merit, excellence) in the different stages of education.
Scholarships in the three universities vary between scholarships offered to local students, scholarships for European Union students, and others offered to all students from countries of the world, especially poor countries.
The three universities are interested in providing scholarships for both males and females in all educational levels.
The three universities provide scholarships for either undergraduate students or postgraduate students.
The Paris Dauphine University and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid provide support to the parents of their students.
Student loans in the three universities are among the sources of financial support for students.

In light of the experiences of the Paris Dauphine University, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and the University of Edinburgh in the field of scholarship financing, the researcher was able to formulate a set of recommendations that may be useful in diversifying the sources of scholarship funding in Egypt, in addition to developing and increasing the current sources.
