The present study aims to investigate the effectiveness of using formative assessment to improve the level of academic achievement among students of Thinking and Scientific Research Skills Course at the Faculty of Business Administration, Shaqra University. The units of the course are prepared in accordance with the strategy of formative assessment. In addition, an achievement test on Thinking and Scientific Research Skills Course is established. A quasi-experimental approach is adopted to identify the effect of applying formative assessment on the achievement of the third level students at the Faculty of Business Administration in Shaqra University. The main finding is that the academic achievement of the sample students is improved after applying the strategy of formative assessment.
