The study aimed to explore the contributions of didactic poetry to Islamic educational thought and assess its feasibility for contemporary education from the perspective of education experts, ultimately proposing an educational vision. The research employed the descriptive-analytical documentary method and the descriptive survey method to gather expert opinions on implementing didactic poetry. The sample consisted of 72 experts specializing in Islamic education.
The findings highlighted the significant contributions of didactic poetry to Islamic educational thought and scientific progress, covering a wide range of disciplines, including rational, transmitted, and natural sciences. Experts emphasized its potential to enhance modern education, particularly in improving the educational process, developing students’ linguistic and critical thinking skills, instilling values and ethics, and reinforcing cultural identity. It was also deemed adaptable to various disciplines and suitable for creating frameworks for emerging fields.
Key challenges included limited awareness of the importance of didactic poetry and insufficient teacher training. The study recommended integrating didactic poetry into curricula, developing innovative tools to facilitate its application, and leveraging technology to modernize its use in education. These steps are expected to bridge the gap between traditional educational practices and contemporary needs, thereby enriching learning outcomes.
