The community development process through civil society organizations seeks to increase citizens' participation in development programs and projects, by encouraging community members in general and women in particular to trust themselves and their abilities and encourage them to assume responsibility and participate in community activities, whether as individuals or groups. This can only be achieved within the framework of civil society organizations' use of contemporary trends in community development to improve the quality of life for poor and marginalized groups. The current study aims to identify the role of civil society organizations in improving the quality of life for women in particular in light of contemporary trends in community development in Upper Egypt. The importance of the study is due to the need for civil society organizations in general and civil society organizations in particular to be guided by many contemporary trends in community development that contribute to raising the level of support provided to women in particular with the aim of improving their social, economic, health, and cultural quality of life to achieve the goals of community development at the present time. The study relied on a set of concepts (the concept of contemporary trends in community development, the concept of improving the quality of life, and the concept of women in particular).
Therefore, the study used the social survey method by choosing a comprehensive survey of all workers in the associations (Decent Life for Community Development, Community Development and Development, Al-Kawthar for Community Development, Basmat Amal for Local Community Development, Al-Sharia for Cooperation of Workers in the Book and the Sunnah of Muhammad) in the villages of Al-Gharizat and Al-Waqda, with a number of (60) workers. The results of the study proved that the role of civil society organizations in improving the quality of life (social, economic, health, and cultural) for women who are most deserving of care in light of contemporary trends in community development in Upper Egypt was average. The study recommended the necessity of benefiting from modern and contemporary trends in community development to improve the social, economic, health, and cultural conditions of the most deserving groups in a manner that is consistent with the contemporary circumstances of Egyptian society.
