The problem of the current research was identified in the decline of environmental concepts, values and behaviors among students. Therefore, the current study seeks to develop a culture of environmental citizenship among secondary school students in a way that contributes to achieving green sustainability, and to identify the educational requirements necessary to develop a culture of environmental citizenship in light of the goals and principles of green sustainability, in order to develop a proposed vision through which the culture of environmental citizenship is developed among secondary school students in light of green sustainability.
Therefore, the current research aimed to reveal the reality of the culture of environmental citizenship among secondary school students in light of green sustainability, and the research reached a set of results, the most prominent of which are:
Weakness of some environmental knowledge, behaviors and values among secondary education students.
The existence of some obstacles that prevent secondary education from achieving its role in developing a culture of environmental citizenship among students in light of green sustainability.
The decline in the role of curricula in adopting some concepts of environmental citizenship among students, and the existence of some shortcomings in introducing students to the goals, concepts and principles of green sustainability.
The inadequacy of the teacher's role in developing some aspects and principles of the culture of environmental citizenship among students in light of green sustainability.
Focusing school activities on some educational activities and neglecting activities related to the environment.
Accordingly, the current research presented a proposed vision for developing a culture of environmental citizenship among secondary school students in light of green sustainability.
