The research aims to identify innovation management and its relationship to achieving competitiveness at Zagazig University. The research used the descriptive analytical approach, and the questionnaire was applied to a random sample of (212) faculty members at Zagazig University. The research reached a set of results, the most important of which are: the existence of a relationship between innovation management and achieving competitiveness at the university, as innovation management is considered a vital enabling factor for the competitiveness of the university that seeks to compete, sustain and grow. The true value of innovation management appears in the university's ability to market innovations and its ability to compete in the labor market. The common feature among successful innovators is the ability to manage innovation. The research also found shortcomings and weaknesses in the ability of Zagazig University administration to provide technical and financial support and the necessary resources to support creativity and innovation, weak skill in predicting available opportunities in the external work environment and weak ability to exploit opportunities, weak use of technology in various services and operations at the university, as well as shortcomings and weaknesses in investment in innovative education and technological training at Zagazig University, weak alignment of university outputs with labor market needs, weak ability of the university to prepare An attractive environment for investment, weak mechanisms for marketing the results of innovative scientific research, shortcomings in cooperation and partnership between the education and business sectors, weak partnerships with the business and industry sectors, government agencies and other educational institutions, weak attraction and recruitment of distinguished competencies from international scientists and researchers who have immigrated abroad and are affiliated with the university, weak and insufficient ability to open channels of communication with various community institutions; with the aim of serving the community and meeting its needs, weak ability to innovate ways to integrate and merge with community institutions, weak dissemination of awareness of its importance within the university, weak university employment of student activities to serve the community, and in light of the results reached by the research theoretically and in the field, a set of proposed procedures were presented that can be applied at Zagazig University to achieve competitiveness in light of the innovation management approach.
