This research aimed to measure the effect of using an adaptive learning environment based on learning styles on developing the performance aspect of virtual robot programming skills among the seventh grade students’ and to develop a list of performance skills of virtual robot programming that needed to be enhanced. The descriptive and quantitative approaches with a quasi-experimental design with three groups and pre-posttest were used. The sample consisted of 30 seventh grade students who were divided into three experimental groups based on the VARK model. The first group included (8) auditory learners, the second included (10) visual learners, and the third group included (12) kinesthetic learners. The tools consisted of an adaptive learning environment and an observation card for the performance aspect of virtual robot programming skills. The results showed a positive effect of using this type of adaptive learning environment on developing the virtual robot programming skills among the seventh grade students and included a list of virtual robot programming performance skills which included (6) basic skills and (22) sub-skills. Some recommendations and implications were discussed to explore additional dimensions for using adaptive learning environments in education.
