This research aims to monitor and analyses the competencies required for the fifth-generation teacher considering the developments of the industrial revolution era. To achieve this, the research used the descriptive-analytical approach to collect, analyses, and critique educational literature related to the research topic. This is to extract and form the specific methodological framework for the research and build the theoretical framework for the competencies of the fifth-generation teacher considering the developments of the industrial revolution era. It also monitors the field reality of the faculty members’ vision of the competencies of the fifth-generation teacher considering the developments of the industrial revolution era. Then, it builds the proposed vision for the competencies of the fifth-generation teacher considering the developments of the industrial revolution era.
This required preparing a questionnaire to identify the faculty members’ vision of the reality of the competencies of the fifth-generation teacher considering the developments of the industrial revolution era. The research sample consisted of (100) faculty members in some faculties of education in some Egyptian universities from different specializations, during the first semester of the academic year 2024-2025; to achieve the research objective.
The results of the field study, from the perspective of the research sample, revealed eight main themes: human intelligence competencies and humanization of education, artificial intelligence and technology competencies, augmented intelligence competencies, human and ethical competencies, student-cantered learning competencies, sustainability competencies and concern for environmental issues, flexibility and adaptability competencies, and emotional competencies. The research concluded with a proposed vision for the competencies of the fifth-generation teacher considering the developments of the industrial revolution era; it was represented in goals, starting points, requirements, mechanisms, and obstacles that may face the implementation of the proposed vision.
