This research aimed to investigate the effect of teaching Islamic studies using augmented reality (AR) technology on the development of creative thinking skills among second-grade middle female students in Abha, Saudi Arabia. To achieve this, the experimental method was followed with a quasi-experimental design for one group with pre- and post-measurements. The research sample consisted of (30) female students in the second middle grade in the city of Abha. The research materials and tools included a guide for the female teacher using augmented reality technology in the Hajj and Umrah unit and their rulings, and a test of creative thinking skills in the skills of (fluency, flexibility, and originality). The research results showed statistically significant differences at the (0.01) level between the average scores of female students in the pre- and post-tests of the creative thinking skills test in favor of the post-test, indicating the effectiveness of teaching Islamic studies using augmented reality technology in developing creative thinking skills. The research presented a number of recommendations, including: paying attention to employing augmented reality technology in teaching Islamic studies, and training teachers on its use.
