This study seeks to develop geographical thinking skills and digital literacy among geography students at the Faculty of Education through a proposed framework grounded in academic excellence. To achieve this objective, the descriptive method was employed as the most suitable approach for the nature of the study. Two research instruments were designed: a test to measure geographical thinking skills and a questionnaire to assess digital literacy, both administered to first- and second-year geography students,The findings indicated that students’ performance in the geographical thinking skills test ranged from low to moderate, with a mean score of 25.14 and a standard deviation of 6.76. This reflects an urgent need for educational and training programs that specifically target the least developed skills. Results also revealed that the overall level of digital literacy was moderate, with a mean score of 2.54 and a standard deviation of 0.48, pointing to limited awareness of its pivotal role in advancing education,Moreover, statistically significant differences were observed in both geographical thinking skills and digital literacy in favor of second-year students. In light of these results, the study proposed a framework based on academic excellence to enhance these two dimensions among geography students at Tanta University. The study concluded with several recommendations, including revising geography curricula to strengthen geographical thinking skills, fostering digital literacy, providing authentic learning opportunities through digital tools, and ensuring the resources and facilities required to achieve academic excellence at the university.
