The present study aimed to develop cognitive achievement and systemic thinking skills through using the TPACK model in teaching geography to among second-year secondary school students during the second semester of the academic year 2024/2025. The research materials were sourced from the following: A list of systemic thinking skills, a teacher’s guide for one of the geography units, and an activity booklet. The research tools consisted of a cognitive achievement test and a systemic thinking skills test for second-year secondary school students. The study was conducted on a sample of 80 students from Suad Moharram Secondary School in Damietta Directorate. The participants were randomly assigned to two groups: An experimental group (n = 40) and a control group (n = 40). To achieve the study objectives, a quasi-experimental design with experimental and control groups was employed. A pre administration of the research tools were conducted to both groups. The proposed unit was taught to the experimental group using the teacher’s guide based on the TPACK model and the activity booklet. The research tools were administered as a post-test to both groups. The Results of the research indicated: that there was a statistically significant difference between the average scores of the students in the two research groups in the cognitive achievement and systemic thinking skills test in the post-application, in favor of the experimental group, and there was a statistically significant difference at a significance between the mean scores of the students in the pre-and post-application in both the test of cognitive achievement and systemic thinking skills, in favor of the post-application. This indicates that using the TPACK model in teaching geography develop cognitive achievement and systemic thinking skills among second-year secondary school students.
The research recommended: There is a need to reconsider the planning and teaching of Geography curriculum in secondary stage and using modern educational and technological models in teaching its content for developing Students’ Cognitive Achievement and Systemic Thinking Skills.
