The present study aimed to identify the extent to which the ethics of using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies are included in the Hadith curriculum for intermediate schools in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. To achieve this aim, the descriptive-analytical method was adopted, and the sample consisted of nine Hadith curricula for the academic year 1446–1447 AH. The study employed the AI Ethics Checklist, which comprises seven ethical principles, and a content analysis card that includes seven main ethics and 35 sub-indicators. The findings revealed that the overall degree of inclusion of AI ethics in the Hadith curriculum at the intermediate level was low. The field of reliability and safety ranked first with a high degree of inclusion, followed by accountability and responsibility with a medium degree of inclusion. Integrity and fairness came third with a low degree of inclusion, while transparency and interpretability ranked fourth, also with a low degree of inclusion. The domains of humanity and social and environmental benefits followed, both with low degrees of inclusion. Finally, privacy and security ranked lowest among the ethical fields. The study recommended the necessity of enriching the Hadith curriculum at the intermediate level to incorporate AI ethics in alignment with the nature of the subject and the prescribed Prophetic traditions.
