Abstract
The aim of this study is to identify the level of Epistemological Beliefs in the study sample of university female students, to detect the differences between the average of the experimental group and the levels of the control group in the post-measurement of the Epistemological Beliefs scale, and to find the differences between the experimental group's average scores on the standard of Epistemological Beliefs attributable to academic achievement.
In order to achieve the objectives of the study, a quasi-experimental method was used, as well as the use of an educational program prepared by the researcher and the Epistemological Beliefs scale (Braten and Stromso) for technicians AL Rable and AL Jarrah( 2011) The study was applied to a sample of 80 students who were equally distributed: an experimental group consists of 40 female Students who were exposed to the educational program, as well as a control group of 40 students who were not exposed to the educational program.
The findings of the study revealed that: the level of Epistemological Beliefs in the sample of the study as a whole of the university students is weak before the application of the educational program. There are also statistically significant differences between the average scores of the experimental group and the levels of the control group in the post measurements in favor of the experimental group, and there were no statistically significant differences between the average scores of the experimental group on the Epistemological Beliefs scale in the post- measurement due to the academic achievement. Based on the results of the study, the researcher recommends that the faculty members should be made aware of the importance of social networking specially Facebook in the educational process through the holding of training courses and to teach them how to use these networks best, and educating those in charge of the educational process in university education to adopt educational programs and curricula that help to develop the Epistemological Beliefs of university students.
