The current study aims to identify challenges of using plagiarism detection system in educational research from faculty members' point of view in the Faculty of Education at Damietta University, which represents the oldest and largest college in the university, As well as determine mechanisms reduce the plagiarism phenomenon in educational research. The study was based on the descriptive approach. A questionnaire was prepared and applied to (56) faculty members out of (80) members in the academic year 2018/2019. The results of the study revealed the most important challenges of using modern systems in detecting plagiarism in educational research, including absence of an electronic library that includes all educational researches, and the inability of electronic systems to detect plagiarism. The study also reached some mechanisms by which to reduce the phenomenon of plagiarism in educational research, including the development of an electronic system for detecting plagiarism specifically for research published in Arabic, the need to establish seminars and workshops for faculty researchers to disseminate information awareness of intellectual property and author's rights and to train researchers in the methods of searching for information and correct documentation of information, As well as supervisors should follow up researchers periodically, and review information sources researchers used in their research.
