Some studies have focused on the effect of extroversion, acceptability, and neuroticism on the method of communication between individuals, where the results of these studies have shown that certain methods of dialogue during daily life can be determined through individual differences in diastolic, acceptability, and nervousness and that individual differences in personality reflect the behavior of individuals when communicating as they reflect Individuals' choice of situations and conditions of daily life (Frederickx & Hofmans, 2014), while the Karadag, S. and Kaya, S. (2019) study indicated a statistically significant positive relationship between the sum of degrees of desire to communicate and the feature of extrovertibility, openness, and responsibility, as it shows that Correlation degree of desire to not Wesal and between the personal characteristics of the individual.
There is a need to know the relationship between a preference for certain communication methods and personality traits, especially the five major factors of personality (extroversion, nervousness, openness, acceptability, and conscientiousness) and answer the question: What kind of people depend on a specific communication medium in their other interactions? Most of the existing research on the use of electronic or direct means of communication was conducted in the West, especially the United States of America, but there is still a dearth in Arab and foreign studies that reveal the impact of the five major features of the personality on the preference to use methods and means of communication in the conditions of daily life. Little is also known about the use of communication channels in Saudi Arabia, especially in Saudi universities (higher education). This research comes to fill this scarcity in the Arab Research Library, by revealing the relationship between the five major factors of the personality of the university’s faculty and their preference for some means of communication. This study adds to the previous research a theoretical and theoretical aspect about the preference of electronic and direct (non-electronic) means of communication as well as trying to reveal the relationship between this preference and the five major factors of personality in light of some demographic variables.
