The current study aimed at determining the role of faculties of education – Tanta University in developing their students’ attitudes towards lifelong learning. It also sought to identify differences on the four dimensions of the utilized questionnaire (roles of the university management – roles of the educational content – roles of the teaching staff members – roles of the activities) in terms of the following demographic variables (administrative position – academic degree - specialization). To achieve these objectives, the descriptive research method was adopted. A questionnaire of four dimensions (roles of the university management – roles of the educational content – roles of the teaching staff members – roles of the activities) was administered to a Stratified random sample of (81) teaching staff members at the faculties of education – Tanta University. They represented (56.64%) of the research population which comprised (143) members. Results showed that mean relative weights of the first (roles of the university management), the second (roles of the educational content) and the third (roles of the teaching staff members) dimensions were moderate in developing students’ attitudes towards lifelong learning. Mean relative weight of the fourth dimension (roles of the activities) in this regard was weak. Additionally, results yielded statistically significant differences on the questionnaire total score and dimensions (a= 0.05) attributed to the position, in favor of those who took up administrative positions. There were also statistically significant differences in terms of both academic degree (in favor of professors) and specialization (in favor of Curricula, teaching methods and educational technology, psychology and mental health
