The aim of this study was to examine the role of ethical leadership in enhancing school discipline among public school principals, considering the variables of gender, academic qualification, and years of service. The study employed a descriptive-analytical approach, with a population consisting of all 200 public school principals, from which a random sample of 157 was selected. The research instrument was a questionnaire that included two main dimensions: ethical leadership and school discipline. The findings revealed that the level of ethical leadership was high (mean = 4.56), while school discipline was at a medium level tending toward high (mean = 3.99). The results also showed a statistically significant positive relationship between ethical leadership and school discipline. Furthermore, significant differences were found in favor of females, and for principals with 10–20 years of experience, whereas no significant differences were observed according to academic qualification.
The study recommends strengthening training programs for school principals on ethical leadership and its practical applications in school management, integrating ethical leadership values into official educational policies and Ministry of Education plans, and activating positive discipline strategies based on encouragement and motivation rather than solely on punitive measures.
