The reality of the application of educational activities related to life skills From the point of view of faculty members at the Faculty of Science (Girls) at Jeddah University

Abstract

   The current era is witnessing scientific progress and accelerated transformations in all fields, which has become imperative for education to keep abreast of these developments, and strive to provide learners with the appropriate knowledge and skills that help them to absorb those variables and deal with them in a way that achieves human development. For this to happen, it is necessary to focus on science curricula, given its importance in providing students with information and skills that help build their personalities and develop their capabilities. Where the effective education of science lies in establishing a reciprocal relationship between theoretical and practical study, by practicing educational activities that in turn seek to develop life skills for learners, which is one of the most important goals of scientific education and science education. The current study aimed to find out the reality of the application of educational activities related to life skills from the viewpoint of faculty members of the Faculty of Science (female students section) at the University of Jeddah, and for this purpose a survey descriptive approach has been applied that studies the reality, and the study sample reached (38) from faculty members who are studying In the College of Science during the first semester of the year 1440-1441 AH, and to answer study questions a questionnaire was prepared consisting of 4) ( dimensions and included 25 words, and then the data was collected and unloaded, then some statistical methods were used to interpret the results (repetitions and percentages) -T-test Correlation factor).
  The results have revealed that the reality of applying educational activities related to life skills from the viewpoint of faculty members of the College of Science (female students section) is very low by 5,72%, and accordingly some recommendations were presented, the most important of which are: reformulating educational activities for university courses in the light of life skills, Including enriching applications that aim to develop these skills, diversifying curricular activities and linking them with the environment of female students of their preferences, and developing the university environment to suit the application of educational activities.
