Requirements of Using Tablet Devices in Teaching from The Perspective of Computer Teacher

Abstract

            This study aimed to identify the requirements of using tablet devices in teaching the computer and information technology course for second-grade intermediate students from the perspective of computer teacher. The study used the descriptive approach, and the study population included all computer teachers in the educational department at Jizan region, and they were (366) teachers, and the study sample was (176) teachers. To collect the data, a questionnaire was designed containing four dimensions of requirements (technical, moral, professional and teaching). The results revealed that the high importance of the four dimensions, as the four dimensions of requirements came based on the degree of its importance according to the following order, professional requirements, teaching requirements, moral requirements, and then technical requirements. The study recommended making use of its results for the educational institutions, curriculum designers, teachers, researchers, and students, as well as developing training plans for computer teachers to develop their practical skills in using tablet devices.
