Strategic entrepreneurship as approach to improve the competitive performance of Egyptian universities in the light of the sustainable development strategy: Egypt's Vision 2030 “Zagazig University as A Model”

Abstract

   Strategic entrepreneurship  is one of the most important modern approaches to strategic thought, which aims to improve the competitive performance of the universities, through the integration of activities to seek and exploit opportunities and activities to search for competitive advantages and their sustainability, meaning the integration between the entrepreneurial perspective and the strategic perspective through managing entrepreneurship strategically to obtain Sustainable competitive advantages, as a vital source of wealth and value.
   The main objective of the current research was on how to use the approach of strategic entrepreneurship  in improving the competitive performance of Egyptian universities in the light of the sustainable development strategy: Egypt's Vision 2030.
 Egypt's 2030 vision in education was based on three strategic goals:
- Education for all, without discrimination.
- Improving the quality of the educational system in line with international systems.
- Improving the competitiveness of education systems and outputs.
    The research used the descriptive approach, and a field study was applied to the staff in (6) colleges at Zagazig University, numbering (360) individuals.
    The research presented a set of proposed measures to improve the competitive performance of Egyptian universities in the light of the strategic entrepreneurship approach.
