Abstract

The success of any organization depends on its leadership, since it directs the behavior of the followers. Successful leadership requires considering the ethical dimension, in addition to the technical and administrative ones. We need moral leaders, as the future of society depends on such leaders who can exercise strong leadership that includes serving others. The present study aims to monitor the reality of the middle leaders in the educational departments of moral leadership in its six dimensions, because of its great importance reflected in the performance of the administrative staff in those departments. Also, need to determine the impact of this on the executive leaders in the schools affiliated with these departments. The study found that, ethical leadership has been achieved in educational departments in four dimensions with an average degree, and in the role clarity dimension is higher than the average, and it is not achieved in one dimension, which is justice.
The study recommends that to give attention to the practice of ethical leadership among the directors of educational departments. Encourage employees to practice ethical behaviors and avoid immoral behaviors. The need for setting a procedural guide to clarify ethical leadership practices, and spread it among directors. Moreover, to set objectives and specific criteria for selecting educational leaders at all administrative levels for which the ethical component is an essential one.
