Abstract

          The study aimed to clarify the intellectual foundations of servant leadership in educational institutions, and analyze the reality of servant leadership practices in American high schools, in addition to identifying ways to develop servant leadership practices in Saudi secondary schools by benefiting from American experience, the study used a case study approach appropriate to its nature, and reached several Results of the most notable: Saudi secondary school leaders suffer from several problems that limit their ability to develop servant leadership skills, and the multiplicity of the advantages of American high school principals practicing servant leadership skills. The study also recommended the necessity of holding training courses on an ongoing basis to familiarize the secondary school principals with what the servant leadership is, its most important principles that underpin it, its importance and its effective role in achieving success and progress, whether at the level of employees or the school level as a whole.
