The current research aimed at clarifying the phenomenon of "rumors" by identifying its conceptual framework, the most important societal challenges causing its spread, its effects on individual and society, as well as identifying the desired role of educational institutions in facing it. To achieve this goal, the descriptive method was used. Scenarios were used - as one of the styles of prospective future studies - to draw general principles for the future role of educational institutions in facing rumors in light of the changing societal conditions. The current research adopted the creative scenario as an appropriate outlook for facing rumors or limiting their risk and safe handling of them.
