Proposed Mechanisms to Convert Basic Education Schools in Egypt into Child Friendly Schools in Light of the Experience of Some Countries

Abstract

The current research aims to identify how to convert basic education schools in Egypt into child friendly schools in light of the experience of some countries. To achieve this objective the research used the comparative approach and reached many findings, including: UNICEF adopts some standards that contribute to providing a child-friendly school environment such as: the inclusiveness, the effectiveness of teaching and learning, the democratic participation, the child centralization in the learning process, an environment that starting with the child, a healthy environment for the child, and a safe environment for the child, as well as  a protective environment for the child. Furthermore, the child-friendly school in Philippines, China and Thailand, based upon the previous standards, was able to achieve many accomplishments that contributed to improving the quality of basic education, and providing a child-friendly learning environment, as well as Philippines, China, and Thailand have made many efforts in their educational system, particularly in the basic education stage, which contributed to providing a child-friendly learning environment. Then the research presented some proposed mechanisms that can be relied upon in converting basic education schools in Egypt into child-friendly schools In light of the experiences of some countries
