Skills necessary to prepare future careers and jobs to keep pace with the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the requirements of its development “proposed vision”

Abstract

     The current study sought to present a proposed vision for developing the skills needed for future occupations and jobs under the Fourth Industrial Revolution by reviewing the concept of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and its characteristics and occupations and jobs that it requires, and the skills associated with those occupations and jobs and the requirements for developing those skills, from the viewpoint of faculty members at Menoufia University.
       The study used to achieve its goals through the descriptive approach procedures, using the questionnaire as a way to collect data that was prepared, codified and applied to a sample of faculty members at Menoufia University, amounting to approximately 200, (approximately 9.6%), of the original community of faculty members and the amount (2091) members in the university year (2019/2020), The number of valid questionnaires for unloading and statistical analysis reached (154), by about 77%, to get to know their views on the skills needed for future careers and jobs in light of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and the requirements for their development from their point of view on the importance of those skills to keep pace with the requirements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution And the degree of availability, in addition to their views on the requirements to develop those skills.
    The study found that the skills needed for future careers and jobs in the shadow of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which members of the sample indicated are extremely important, were represented by three sets of skills: learning and creativity skills, digital culture skills, life and work skills, which included all A set of a number of sub-skills. They also indicated that these skills are available to students with an average degree. The study also concluded that the development of these skills can be done through - the opinion of the sample members is very important - providing a set of requirements related to each of the goals of university education , The university environment, the faculty member, educational curricula, as well as the university student, and the partnership between the university and the productive and industrial institutions, and it is available at an average degree, as the study indicated that there are no statistically significant differences between the averages of the opinions of the members of the sample according to the variables of type, type of colleges and academic rank.              
    At the end of the study, a proposed vision was presented to provide the requirements for developing the skills needed for future occupations and jobs under the Fourth Industrial Revolution, including its premises and dimensions. A, its components and implementation mechanisms.
