A Suggested Perception for the Management of Research Chairs to Support the Innovation in Egyptian Universities in the Light of Egypt Vision 2030

Abstract

Research chairs are a form of partnership between Universities and the private sector, it is one of the components of the scientific research system in many Universities worldwide, and it is also an important way to support scientific innovations, and turning them in to productive projects; which helps to achieving sustainable development based on the knowledge economy.
The current study aimed to: Identify the most important theoretical foundations for the concept of research chairs, identify the most important obstacles facing them, the requirements for their success, and learn how to manage and finance them, as well as define the most important theoretical foundations for the concept of innovation, analyze its indicators in Egyptian universities, and finally, the study suggests a Perception for the Management of research chairs to support the innovation in Egyptian Universities. The study used the descriptive analytical method, which is based on description, interpretation, measurement, and analysis.
The theoretical framework included seven axes: The first axis included: the theoretical foundations of the concept of research chairs. The second axis included: the most important obstacles to creating research chairs, and the requirements for their success in Universities. The third axis included: how to manage research chairs, their financing, and the criteria for their evaluation in Universities. The fourth axis included: the most important theoretical foundations for the concept of innovation in universities. The fifth axis included: the indicators of scientific research and innovation in Egyptian universities. The sixth axis included: the most important results of the study, and finally: the seventh axis included: the proposed perception of managing research chairs to support innovation in Egyptian Universities.
