Abstract

The main purpose of the study reported in this thesis was to identify general feature of self-efficacy and the big five personality factors, and relationship between them. Further, the current study aimed at investigating relationship between each with decision-making, and  detect  possibility of the big five personality factors to predict self-efficacy, and the possibility of both to predict decision-making among female schools' principals in Riyadh City. The study sample consisted of (N= 220) female principals of public schools in Riyadh City with a percentage of (39%) of the study population. In order to collect data and test the study variables several tools were used. These were; Demographic Information Form prepared by the researcher, Self-efficacy Scale excerpt from (Hisham Abdullah, Essam El Akkad, 2008), the Big Five Personality Factors Scale prepared by Costa and MacCrae (1992) and the Decision-making Scale that used by each of Abdoun (d. v) and Subaie (2001). These tools were re-formulated by the researcher to be appropriate for the current study. Through multiple statistical processors by using (SPSS), researcher reached the following results: school principals showed high significant degree in self-efficacy and its dimensions, and they showed high significant degree in some factors of big personality factors (Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, and moderately degree in Openness factor, and a low significant degree in Neuroticism factor. Results also revealed that there is a positive significant relationship between self-efficacy and some factors of big personality factors :(Extraversion, Openness, Conscientiousness (, and negative significant relationship with Neuroticism factor, and no significant  relationship with Conscientiousness and Agreeableness, and there is a positive significant relationship between self-efficacy and decision-making, and a positive significant relationship between some factors of the big personality factors: (Extraversion, Openness, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness) and decision-making, and negative significant relationship with Neuroticism factor, also confirmed that there was no statistically significant differences in self-efficacy and the big five personality factors  according to the demographic variables (years of experience, educational stage). The study also found that some factors of the big five personality factors have the ability to predict self-efficacy and greater ability is in predicting Extraversion, followed by Conscientiousness. In addition, self-efficacy and some factors of  the big five factors have the ability to predict the decision-making, according to the following order: self-efficacy then Extraversion factor, then Conscientiousness factor.  At last, findings of the current study were discussed and interpreted; the researcher also presented a package of recommendations and suggestions for future studies.
