Abstract

This research is aiming to identify the differences in multiple intelligences among the students of the preparation year in the scientific and humanity branches in the preparatory year at the University of Taif. To achieve this goal, the two researchers established criteria of multiple intelligences and applied them on a selected group as a sample of research that consists of( 690) students (male and female) in both branches in Taif City.( 340) of them are males while( 350) of the selected group were female.( 300) of the students in the scientific branch while there were( 390) from the humanities branch. So to explore the differences between the multiple intelligences based on variables such as majors and gender. After the results of statistical analysis, the research explored the existences of differences between the two branches in the area of intelligence, movements, location, language ,social and personality to the advantage of students in the humanity branch. Meanwhile, the differences were clear to the advantage of the students in the scientific branch in terms of intelligence logic mathematical and natural intelligence. There was no difference between them in terms of musical intelligence. As the results showed, there were differences between male and female in terms of musical intelligence and personality, and natural intelligence to the advantage of males. At the same time, the differences were clear to the advantage of females in terms of language and location and movement  intelligence. There were no significant differences between them in logic mathematical and social intelligence.
