The teacher etiquette in Islamic educational thought and extent that the faculty members embracing them in education college, Umm Al Qura university from graduate students' perspective

Abstract

The faculty member is considered as the main part of the educational process. This calls universities to subject all their possibilities to develop university staff in order to correspond with the contemporary knowledge and technology challenges. The Islamic educational thought represents much etiquette that professors should have in order to get the appreciation of their students as well as to be their inspiration examples. Thus, the current paper aims at identifying the personal and professional characteristics of the professors in the light of the teacher etiquette from Islamic educational thought as well as to the extent they have them from postgraduate students' perspective. The study came with a number of important results as follows: the subjects of the study have a general agreement that professors have the teacher etiquette of Islamic educational thought. The etiquettes of personal adequacy located firstly. At the second level, the etiquettes in relation to professional is located. The study recommends that there should be courses dealing with the skills of employing the learning psychology in teaching; identifying the characteristics of students and individuals differences; selecting of educational methodology; producing and training on using educational technology.
