The Attitudes of the Tenth Basic Grade pupils Towards Using Computer in light of Using it in Teaching Geography

Abstract

This study has aimed at identifying the attitudes of the tenth basic grade pupils towards using computer in light of usirgitin teaching geography.
The study subjects consisted of (240) male and female students (122) males and 118 females) of the tenth basic grade pupils attending government schools affiliated to education directorate, Amman the Second for the academic year (2006-2007) whereas they have studied the economic activity by computers.
To achieve the goal of the study an attitude standard (scale) was developed consisting of (20 items).
The findings revealed the following:
-       The attitudes of the tenth basic grade pupils towards using computer in teaching geography was positive.
-       There were no differences of statistical significance at the level of               (a = 0.5) in the attitudes of the tenth basic grade pupils towards using computer in teaching geography attributable to gender.
Based on the findings reached by the researcher, he recommends expanding computerization of the geographic curricula due to its positive effect on the pupils, attitudes and achievement.
