Abstract

 
      The study aimed to identify the reality of paper scientific journals in several universities across the Arab world. It Underscores the challenges that the faculty members, students and researchers encounter in scholarly journals The research used the comparative method to compare the system of paper and electronic periodicals on a sample of some colleges in the Arab world..
     The results of this study found that it is still so far paper journals are dominant in the dissemination of knowledge, and there are no clear criteria for the quality of publication, And weak cooperation between the Central Library and libraries in the periodicals paper and electronic journals in the exchange of information, Arab and foreign, and the impact of electronic patrols will lead to the decline of paper patrols from publishing, The research recommended the need to have a partnership with universities and foreign scientific institutions developed and facilitated with them through the Internet, And the interest in the publication of paper journals and e-mail court and the establishment of sites on the Internet, And the restructuring of library departments in universities to look at its departments - curricula - vision, to keep pace with developments in modern technology
