Abstract

The study aimed to determine the degree to which school leaders practice technical competencies in the light of the general education development strategy, to identify the fact that school leaders practice the technical competencies in the field of teaching and learning leadership and to lead the professional learning communities, and to identify the differences in the sample responses to the reality of the school leaders' Technical according to the variables: sex, scientific qualification.
The researcher used the descriptive analytical method, and to achieve the objectives of the study and data collection, the questionnaire tool was used. The study population consisted of (435) supervisors in the school development units. The sample of the study was chosen in a simple random way to apply the questionnaire, Their number reached (219) supervisors.
The data were statistically analyzed using the SPSS program. The results of the study were as follows:
1 - The practice of school leaders for technical competencies in the light of the national strategy for the development of public education came in a medium degree.
2 - There are statistically significant differences on the reality of the practice of school leaders for technical competencies due to gender variable in favor of supervisors at the level of significance (a ≤ 0.01) in leading the processes of teaching and learning, and leadership of professional learning communities.
3 - There are no statistically significant differences on the reality of the practice of school leaders for technical competencies due to the variable of scientific qualification.
Based on the results of the study, a number of recommendations and proposals were presented.
