Meta-emotional patterns of faculty Members at King Saud University and Its Relationship With Some Variables.

Abstract

The current study aims to revealing the relationship between the meta- emotional patterns of faculty members at the Deanship of preparatory year, King Saud University andthe variables of sex, marital status, academic specialty and experience.
The population of the study consisted of (161) faculty members from preparatory year-King Saud University. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the meta-emotional patterns scale prepared by the researcher; the study resulted in the following: The emotion–coaching pattern is the most common of the meta- emotions amongst faculty members.- There are no statistically significant differences between mean scores of faculty members according to gender (male- females).- There are no statistically significant differences between mean scores of faculty members according to the variable of marital status (single - married).- There are no statistically significant differences between mean scores of faculty members in relation to academic specialty- except in the pattern of emotion-coaching where the differences are for the benefit of faculty members of the humanity section.- There are no statistically significant differences between mean scores of faculty members according to years of experience (less than five years - more than five years) - except in the pattern of emotion-coaching where the differences are for the benefit of “less than five years” members.
