A Program Based on the Applications of the Constructivism Theory to Develop the Skills of Listening Comprehension and Collective Thinking for Arabic Student Teachers in Basic Education

Abstract

     The study aimed at finding out the impact of a program based on the applications of the constructivism theory on developing the skills of listening comprehension and collective thinking for Arabic student teachers in Basic Education at the Faculty of Education, Alexandria University.
     Both the analytical descriptive method and the quasi-experimental method, with one group pre-posttests, were used in the research problem.
     The two research instruments were represented in the listening comprehension skills test and the collective thinking scale.
     The research was applied on a sample of (76) students in second year (Arabic Language Section- Basic Education) at the Faculty of Education, Alexandria University.
     Results showed that there is a statistically significant difference at (a ≤ 0.01) between the mean scores of the study group students in the pre and posttests of the listening comprehension skills test in favor of the posttest, with a significant impact of (2.8725).
     There is also a statistically significant difference at (a ≤ 0.01) between the mean scores of the study group students in the pre and posttests of the collective thinking scale in favor of the posttest, with a significant impact of (2.7421).
