Abstract

               The study aimed to find out the role of student activities in development of some soft skills through the main question: What is the role of student activities in development of some soft skills in high school students from the point of view of their teachers in Makkah? The descriptive survey method was used by a questionnaire that included six axes: (communication, time management, teamwork, problem-solving, decision-making, leadership). The questionnaire was applied after ensuring its validity and stability on a sample of secondary school teachers taken in a cluster method in Makkah. And their count (127) Using appropriate statistical methods, including: frequencies, ratios, arithmetic averages, and the most important results were reached: that the averages of the previous axes related to soft skills ranged between (2,0945-2244) and thus all obtained an average score, meaning that the role of activities did not reach the level What is required in achieving soft skills, and the presence of quite a few expressions that are developed by student activities, but with a medium degree, with the exception of (3) phrases that have a high degree in skills: decision-making, time management, teamwork, as well as the absence of statistically significant differences when The level of significance (= 0.05) for the role of student activities in developing some soft skills is attributable to academic qualification and years of work experience, The researcher recommended the following: Directing the efforts of schools towards increasing the role of soft skills due to their importance in the labor market.
