Awareness of Students with Visual Impairment at The Secondary Stage of The Dimensions of Digital Citizenship and Ways to Enhance it from Their Viewpoint and Their Teachers: field Study

Abstract

The aim of the research is to identify the extent of awareness of students with visual impairment at the secondary stage of the dimensions of digital citizenship and ways to enhance it from their point of view and their teachers, and the study used the descriptive approach, and the final research sample consisted of (74) students with visual impairment in the general secondary stage from four governorates ( Beheira Governorate, Dakahlia Governorate, Sharkia Governorate, Gharbia Governorate), and a questionnaire was applied to measure the extent of students with visual impairment awareness of the dimensions of digital citizenship. A questionnaire was also applied to ways to enhance the dimensions of digital citizenship from the viewpoint of students and teachers, and the sample included (74) teachers of students with disabilities By using the appropriate statistical methods, the results of the research revealed that Students' awareness of the dimensions of digital citizenship was moderate, except for digital behavior, as the level was high, and statistically significant differences were found at the level (0.01) in all the statements of the questionnaire for ways to enhance the dimensions of digital citizenship in favor of response (completely agree) from the point of view of students and their teachers, and in the end the results were interpreted, discussed, and a proposed concept was developed The dimensions of digital citizenship for students with visual impairment in the secondary stage are highlighted, In general, the research recommended the need to teach visually impaired people how to deal with digital technology in order to achieve digital access to electronic and digital information in all its forms,  and a set of proposed research has been developed.
