The Effectiveness of Collaborative Learning through Learning Management System (Blackboard) in Developing the Skills of Digital Moving Images Design and a Sense of Community among Female Students of Taibah University

Abstract

The study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of collaborative learning through learning management system (Blackboard) in developing the skills of digital moving images design and a sense of community among female students of Taibah University. It was conducted on (20) students of the Faculty of College of Education, at University of Taiba, in the second semester of the academic year (1442). The study employed quasi experimental design (one-group pretest-posttest design), and an (Observation Card, final product evaluation card, and guide) for designing digital moving images skills were used as data collection tools. A number of statistical methods have been applied, including Paired Samples T-Test, Eta-Square, and Black's Modified Gain Ratio. The results of the study showed that there was effectiveness of collaborative learning through learning management system (Blackboard) in developing the skills of digital moving images design, it also showed that there were not statistically significant in developing the sense of community, and the level of students' mastery of digital moving images design skills reached more than (80%) after conducting the study experiment. Based on these results, the study concluded in a number of recommendations and proposals.
