Abstract

This study aimed at­ identifying the effectiveness of using strategies of Encouraging Neural Branching in a suggested unit in Social Studies for developing awareness of Environmental justice issue of third year Preparatory stage students . The study used the following materials : a checklist of Environmental justice dimensions, the suggested unit based on strategies of Encouraging Neural Branching, and a teacher guide. The only instrument of the study was a questionnaire of Environmental justice with its three aspects (knowledge - attitude- Behavior). The study used the quasi experimental research curriculum (one group design) as the suggested unit was applied in the first term 2020/2021 for a group of third year students (N=32) enrolled at Abu Tisht Preparatory School at Qena. Results revealed that there were statically significant differences at (0.01)  between the means of scores of the participants in pre and post implementations of Environmental justice questionnaire favoring the post one. This referred to the effectiveness of using strategies of Encouraging Neural Branching in teaching the suggested unit in Social Studies for developing the awareness of environmental justice issue. Based on the results of the  study, a number of recommendations and suggesting researches were presented.
