Using the Strategy of Guided Imagery Supported by Expressive Processing of Educational Images in Teaching Literary Texts to Develop Literary Appreciation Skill and Emotional Intelligence among Preparatory Stage Pupils

Abstract

The present research aims at identifying the effectiveness of the strategy of Guided Imagery supported by expressive processing of educational images in teaching literary texts to developing Literary Appreciation Skill and emotional intelligence among first-year preparatory pupils. The research group consisted of two groups, experimental and the other control, The number of each of them was (30) pupil. Preparing two tests in Literary Appreciation skills and emotional intelligence, and after applying the research experiment, the results of the research resulted in: There are significant statistically differences at a level of 0.01 between the averages of the control and experimental groups' degree in the literary Appreciation skills' post-test in favor of the experimental group. Also, there are significant statistically differences. at the level of 0.01 between the averages of the control and experimental groups' degree in the emotional intelligence skills' post-test in favor of the experimental group. This indicates the effectiveness of the Guided Imagery strategy supported by expressive processing of educational images in teaching literary texts on developing literary Appreciation skills and emotional intelligence among the pupils of the experimental group.
