The effect of following famous personalities in snapchat on the consumer values of boys in the light of the values of Islamic education

Abstract

 The study objective is to know the opinion of Islamic education on consumption, and to clarify its importance, and the values ​​associated with consumption according to the perspective of Islamic education, to reveal the reasons for children’s tendency to follow celebrities on Snapchat, and to know the effects on consumer values ​​among children, as a result of following celebrities on Snapchat.
The researcher used the descriptive "documentary" and "survey" approaches and find out a number of results, including: Islamic education emphasizes the permissibility of consumption and its permission at the highest possible levels for the individual in an effort to meet the needs and desires of the Muslim without excessive or negligence; Evidence for consumption and urging it in many places in the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet, and there are a number of consumer values ​​in Islamic education, including: the call for mediation and moderation in spending, keenness on saving, taking into account priorities, and seeking halal money, and it was one of the most prominent The reasons for children’s tendency to follow celebrities on Snapchat from the view point of parents are represented in the children’s emptiness, curiosity, and the famous humorous style motivate children to follow celebrities. The spread of a culture of consumption and low production, linking happiness to obtaining money, and the absence of a savings culture and other effects.  
The researcher recommended the necessity of educating families about consumer values to enhance them in the hearts of their children, and activating the role of educational parental control to legalize the follow-up of what is presented on Snapchat, and to activate useful alternative activities to fill the time of their children and occupy them with what benefits them.
