A Proposed Vision to Improve Internationalization Policies in Egyptian Universities in The Light of The Erasmus Plus Program

Abstract

The aim of the current research is to identify the theoretical foundations of internationalization policies in universities in the contemporary educational literature, as well as to identify the intellectual and philosophical framework of the Erasmus Plus program, and to reveal the reality of internationalization policies in Egyptian universities in the light of the Erasmus Plus program, and finally to develop the proposed vision for improving internationalization policies in Egyptian universities in the light of the benefit From the Erasmus Plus program, It relied on the descriptive analytical approach due to the nature of the research problem. The research reached several results, including: the absence of a clear plan for internationalization in Egyptian universities within the framework of a national internationalization plan, Weak strategic planning and coordination of internationalization policies at the institutional and national levels, The lack of financial resources necessary to fully activate the internationalization policies in Egyptian universities, The large number of regulatory and bureaucratic constraints related to the policy of international cooperation and partnerships, Weak exploitation of financing opportunities and international partnership opportunities.
